The New Year is upon us.

It’s a time when most of us make commitments about how we’re going to transform our lives and health.

It’s also a time when most of us start to make excuses about all the reasons we can’t follow through with our commitments:

I’ll eat better tomorrow.

I’ll spend less time on Facebook tomorrow, and more time preparing my meals, going for walks, or with my friends/partner/family.

I’ll get my butt to that yoga/Pilates/dance class next week.

Commitments and excuses seem to go hand in hand.

Somehow we manage to see time as if it’s in short supply for all our behaviors that don’t fulfill us, and yet we act as if we have all the time in the world to engage in practices that actually fulfill us.

We don’t.

The best time to take action is right now.

So why do we feel so helpless to commit to transformation, even if we know doing so is in our best interest?
